You’re At A Crossroads

You can see a few different ways your business could go from where it is now.

You could keep doing what you’re doing and make it work better. You could change your services. Work with different people. Cut things back. Build something new. Take the business in a completely different direction.

The problem isn’t a lack of ideas.

It’s that several of them make sense and that makes it hard to choose.

You keep thinking, comparing, researching and imagining different versions of the future, but none of them feels clear enough to fully back.

The Signs

You might notice things like:

  • You have several possible directions your business could go and can make a good case for all of them.
  • You start researching a new idea, then lose interest when another possibility comes along.
  • You find yourself asking other people what they think you should do.
  • You keep waiting for one option to feel obviously right.
  • You can explain what you don’t want more easily than what you do want.
  • You’re worried about making the wrong move and messing up something that currently works.
  • You’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the next chapter without making a clear decision.
  • Whenever things do feel clear, suddenly things get murky as you try to take action and make changes.

Reflection Questions

Here are 3 questions to help you start sorting through the possibilities:

  1. When was the last time you took time away from the day-to-day of your business to plan big picture?
  2. What is a course or book you’ve really been wanting to do or read?
  3. Who are 3 people I can talk to who listen really well and ask good questions?

Next Steps

You probably don’t need another list of business ideas.

The useful work here is getting clearer on what matters to you now, then giving yourself a way to test possible directions without needing to know exactly where they’ll lead.

Here are a couple of ways I can help:

  1. Starting tomorrow, I’ll send you a short 4 email series with some ideas for sorting through your options, making decisions and starting to test what might come next.
  2. If you’d like more direct help working through this, you could try me on as your coach. This is the main way I help clients. I have a few spots available at the moment. If you’re interested, enquire here and we’ll catch up for a free chat.
